INSIDE THE BOOK

About this book

As computing shifts toward parallel architectures and GPU acceleration, traditional approaches to data structures and algorithms must evolve. This book dives into the challenges and opportunities of modern computing, introducing readers to WebGPU and WGSL as tools for high-performance rendering and computation. Learn how to adapt classic structures like trees, graphs, and queues for parallel execution, and explore how algorithms behave in massively concurrent environments. Ideal for developers, researchers, and students aiming to stay ahead in the computing landscape.

A worthwhile read

Recommended, with the caveat that it is not a gentle introduction.

This is the third book I have read on algorithms this year, and it is comfortably the best of them. A couple of chapters felt like they could have been merged, but that is a minor complaint. Worth picking up if you already have the basics. Set realistic expectations and you will get a lot out of it.

Clear, thorough, and genuinely useful

Exactly the book I needed. Straight to the point and genuinely useful.

I read this over a couple of weekends alongside a small side project, which turned out to be the ideal way to approach it. The writing is direct and does not waste space on filler, which I value in a technical book. The book rewards careful reading. Skimming it would be a mistake. If you have the prerequisites, this is an easy recommendation. I will be keeping it on my desk rather than the shelf.
